More photography toys just arrived! The "Tamron 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II AF LD Aspherical for Canon EOS" lens (short and easy name) and a wired remote shutter release - something that I've missed countless times with my Sony F-717! The remote is a cheap Canon knockoff bought off of ebay, but it seems very good. Canon isn't exactly known for their reasonable pricing on accessories. (4 photos)

This is what the output of a broken Sony DSC-F717 image sensor looks like. Like on many Sony cameras manufactured between 2000 and 2002, mine suddenly gave up. Fortunately, as a result of a class action lawsuit against Sony, my camera was repaired free of charge and now serves as my backup. (12 photos)
